When the pandemic prevented us from having an in-person Blue Cities event, CWN staff quickly pivoted to ensure that the valued discussions that are central to the event could continue. As we turned our attention to moving the program online, we wanted to preserve the ability to share insights and connect with one another. Thank you for your willingness to pivot with us, whether it was as a speaker, moderator or attendee.
This was CWN’s first venture into hosting an entire event online and we are anticipating that it will not be our last. Given the current reality, we will be planning other discussions later this fall and considering an approach that will bring both the in-person and online aspects together for Blue Cities 2021.
If you missed one of the discussions, or wish to share the discussions with other staff within your organization, we have provided a link to the recordings and speaker slides (password: BCD2020). This information can also be accessed in the members’ area of the website ― click on Blue Cities in the top menu.
A note for our Ontario CLG members: We were able to defer our contract with the Hilton Toronto to host Blue Cities next year on May 3-5, 2021. Not many dates were still available given the current situation, and we have since learned that OWWA is also holding their annual event that week. As a result, we will be exploring ways to support both events and welcome your input on this matter.
Many of you have already provided feedback through our survey, but if you wish to provide more detailed input, please contact Sandra Cooke at [email protected].
