Emerging scientific research has led to increasing concerns about harmful elements found within water systems. Among these contaminants of concern are perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS. Canadian Water Network (CWN) has prepared a brief that provides information about what to watch for and some background on the topic (e.g., routes of exposure). The brief also provides the current status (e.g., regulatory environment, emerging research, etc.) and key considerations (e.g., challenges, opportunities, etc.).
