We’re happy to share that Bret Collins joined Canadian Water Network (CWN) in January as the municipal decarbonization program advisor for our Wastewater Energy Transfer (WET) project.

Bret holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Calgary and a master’s degree in Natural Resource Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Since graduating, Bret has worked with the United Cities Norsk Bærekraftsenter, supporting municipalities in Norway, Europe, and the Middle East address complex sustainability challenges.

His work has focused on applying data, performance indicators, and digital tools to inform municipal decision-making, including planning related to infrastructure, environmental services, and long-term resilience. Through this work, he has gained experience working at the interface of research, policy, and practice.
