Canada’s rapidly evolving situation and high level of uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges for water and wastewater utilities. In response, Canadian Water Network began hosting and facilitating weekly meetings with decision makers from up to 30 large and mid-sized water and wastewater utilities across Canada. These discussions have helped utility leaders plan, prioritize and respond to the pandemic to ensure the continuity of essential services. This snapshot provides insights on some of the challenges, considerations and strategies employed by these water and wastewater utilities in Canada between March 20 and July 24, 2020.
