Canadian Water Network (CWN) made progress on several climate-related initiatives in the first quarter of 2024. These initiatives include a project that examines climate impacts, water availability and agricultural activity in the Prairies.

Advancing research on climate impacts: A landmark two-year project is being undertaken by CWN in partnership with ClimateWest and the Prairie Adaptation Research Collaborative (PARC). This project, which is supported by RBC Tech for Nature, aims to shed light on the influence of climate change on water availability and crop viability across the Canadian Prairies. In March, CWN convened an expert advisory committee workshop to guide and refine the research trajectory.

As we continue to navigate the challenges posed by climate change, these meetings and projects underscore CWN’s commitment to fostering knowledge, collaboration and action in pursuit of a sustainable future.
