Global collaboration for Canadian impact
As Canada’s representative in the Global Water Research Coalition (GWRC), CWN contributes Canadian leadership to global research efforts and brings global insights home to inform local solutions. Our participation ensures that Canadian priorities are reflected in international research agendas, while giving us access to leading science and technical knowledge from around the world.
Why it matters
Water challenges don’t stop at borders. Through the GWRC, CWN helps shape a global research agenda that supports better decision-making, informs policy and regulation, and promotes sustainable water management practices worldwide.

About the GWRC
Formed in 2002, the GWRC brings together 12 national research organizations to address global water challenges across the full water cycle — from supply to wastewater to renewable water resources. By pooling knowledge, GWRC members strengthen their ability to respond to complex, shared issues in the water sector, and support the global dissemination of critical knowledge.
